Meet Claire

An interest in self-reflection began when Claire turned 8 years old — the year her mother taught her to meditate. At 13, she decided she wanted a formalized spiritual practice and subsequently found (or it found her) a spiritual path devoted to meditation, vegetarianism and self-introspection.

At age 20, for a period of three years, she meditated daily, with little exception, from 3am-6am and many of those days concluded with a final hour of contemplation.

Claire has been fortunate to travel the United States, South America and India for meditation retreats where self-observation and 10-12 hours of meditation was the daily prescription/practice for all participants.

When she was introduced to the Enneagram in 1998, she was struck by the profound intelligence, integrity and depth of this remarkable system of 9 personality/psychological types. Since that initial “spark,” she has devoted herself to learning, sharing and teaching the Enneagram.

In 2005 she certified with Helen Palmer and David Daniels, pre-eminent teachers of the system. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Northern California Chapter of the International Enneagram Association (NC-IEA), is a member of the International Enneagram Association and the Association of Enneagram Teachers in the Narrative Tradition.

Always interested in creative ways to spread the word about the Enneagram, the idea for Annie and Eddie Agram, dolls who travel the world spreading the news of the Enneagram with updates on the NCIEA Facebook page is her brainchild.

Besides teaching and counseling in the Enneagram, her interests include Odissi Classical Indian dance, Latin/Brazilian dance, quilting, yoga, kirtan and the ABC’s of vegetarian cooking: Adzuki Bean Cake to X-tatic Yummy Zucchini. She resides with her family in the San Francisco Bay Area.
